One aspect of Servant Senders is Disaster Relief. Our purpose is to serve the body of Christ and their pastors during a time of crisis, as they minister to their congregations and communities. We will be preparing to use the crisis as an opportunity to reach out with the love of God and the good news of Jesus. We want to be prepared to serve appropriately in this special time of need. Our team will be sent out with a prayer covering and led by the Holy Spirit. We will provide training to help your team be ready to serve. We will be taking trips as the need arises.

The first disaster relief trip was to New York City in 2001, after 9/11. After Hurricane Katrina, we took five trips to Mississippi during 2005 and 2006 to help the people of the area. We also helped in Indiana after the 2006 tornado. Recently, Cassie took a trip to southern California to serve after the fires.
These pictures are from Pascagula, Mississippi, after Hurricane Katrina hit the area in September of 2005.
to Christ - in Christ - for Christ
Hello, I have an application for servant senders. A friend asked me about the expenses, and I had no answers. Is their funding, or would it all be a personal expense?
If their is funding how much would it be?
Thank you.
Dear Andrew,
Each person going on a Servant Senders’ trip or disaster relief mission is expected to pay his/her expenses for the trip. This varies depending on where the trip is to, and for how long. SS keeps its costs as low as possible, however. For more information about a specific trip, contact Cassie Vawter.
